A Veteran Lives Here... With His Commander-In-Chief
I am so excited for the 4th of July. It's such a fun holiday and more importantly a wonderful time to remember our amazing country and the values it was founded upon. I am so grateful for the many men and woman who have served and serve our country to let us enjoy the freedoms we have.
My father-in-law is one amazing man. He served in Desert Storm when my husband was just 5-6 years old. It's an experience my husband will never forget as well as his family. We are so grateful for the service he gave and for all the men and women who so bravely fight for our freedoms, past, present and future.
My father-in-law is so funny and has quite a sense of humor. So this sign was perfect for him. We gave it to him for Father's Day and he loved it!
Here is how we made it...
We went to Home Depot and found a 4-foot x 1-foot x 1-inch board. We had them cut it into two 18-inch pieces and one 12-inch piece, so we ended up with two 18x12 inch pieces and one 12x12 piece. For this project we used the 18x12 inch piece. Back home my husband sanded them. After that he painted the wood white. Then painted the blue border.
We used my Silhouette Cameo for the letters and the stars. We used the font, Stencil for the words and for the stars we used the font Wizards Magic and by using the * it will be a star.
What an awesome idea! I love it!
