Zesty Barbecue Chicken {Crock Pot}

Don't you just love daylight savings?  Well I used to not mind it, that is until I had children.  Now with a toddler and a new baby, sleep is very precious. I knew I was going to be exhausted Sunday morning. It's impossible to get to bed early with my baby wanting to nurse late at night and then he eats early in the morning and we have church early Sunday morning. So I decided to get the crock pot ready to go so I didn't have to worry about being too tired to get something ready.

Sunday is our crock pot day which is perfect since we have church and I don't like cooking when I'm starving. I'm always hungry when we get home from church and it is so nice to have something ready!  Well this crock pot recipe is so easy and so very simple! All you do is mix up a couple of ingredients and pour it over the chicken. Only a couple of minutes of work!  Saturday night I put the chicken in the crock pot, the barbecue sauce/seasonings on top and put it in the fridge. So Sunday morning it took me about 2 seconds to get lunch ready for the day. YES!

And this chicken is so good!  It's a mixture of barbecue sauce, Italian dressing and a couple other ingredients. I think Italian dressing was made for the crock pot! Any recipe I've had in the crock pot using it is so amazing.  You don't have to shred it but I did so it would soak up the juices. (yum!)  We just ate it shredded with a baked potato on the side. (We just used the microwave because that is so fast.)  You could also serve it on a bun and make a sandwich out of it. I'm so happy I have another great and fast crock pot recipe.

Zesty Barbecue Chicken
Recipe slightly adapted from All Recipes
Ingredients:
6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (can be frozen)
1 (12 oz.) bottle barbeque sauce
1/2 cup Italian salad dressing
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
pinch of salt

Directions:
Place chicken in a slow cooker.  In a bowl, mix the barbecue sauce, Italian salad dressing, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and salt. Pour over the chicken.

Cover, and cook 3 to 4 hours on High or 6 to 8 hours on Low.

Serve as is or shred chicken and stir. Serve on a bun if desired.
