Garlic Texas Toast

Stay up to date on my newest recipes by following Love to be in the Kitchen on Facebook or Pinterest!

Mmm! Texas Toast! I love Texas Toast. It's thick and chewy and with the garlic bread topping it takes it to beyond delicious! I love to have this along with Lasagna or pasta. I'm sure you've seen the boxes of garlic Texas Toast sold in the freezer section. I never buy it but my mom had it for us for dinner a while ago. It was really good but way too buttery and I couldn't believe all the strange ingredients when I read the labels. So I decided I would make my own!

I couldn't find a recipe I liked so I did my own thing. I bought a loaf of Texas Toast and topped it with a mixture of butter, minced garlic, parsley and salt and pepper. It was so quick to put together. And the topping is delicious.

To freeze the toast you place them on a baking sheet and freeze them for about 20 minutes.

Then you put them inside a labeled freezer zip-lock bag. It's that easy! We are loving having this ready to go whenever we want it. I've warmed it up in the oven, toaster oven and on the stove-top and all ways are delicious! I'm loving this!

Oven:
Preheat oven to 375 F. Lay slices butter side up on a baking pan.  Bake 5-6 minutes or until golden brown.

Lay slices butter side down on pan over medium heat. Cook 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
